Who we are
We are the team behind ReplyGuy, a browser extension that helps people draft social-media replies faster, in their own voice. This policy explains what the extension does with your information.
What we collect and where it lives
- Your OpenAI API key. You paste this into the extension's Settings page. It is stored only in your browser's local extension storage. We never see it, and it is never sent to any server we run.
- Your voice sample. A handful of your own past posts that you paste into Settings so drafts sound like you. Also stored only in your browser's local extension storage.
- Your tone preference and daily draft count. Small pieces of local state so the extension remembers your last-used tone and can enforce the free-tier daily limit.
- Subscription status. If you upgrade to Pro, ExtensionPay (our payments provider) keeps a record of your paid status so the extension can check it. See ExtensionPay's own privacy policy for how they handle payment data; we do not process card details ourselves.
What gets sent to a third party, and when
When you click the reply button and pick a tone, the extension sends the text of the post you are replying to, your tone choice, and a short style fingerprint built from your voice sample, to OpenAI, using your own API key, to generate a draft. That request goes directly from your browser to OpenAI. We do not run a server in between and we never see the contents of that request.
When you check or upgrade your Pro status, the extension talks to ExtensionPay to verify your subscription.
We do not send your data anywhere else. There is no analytics service, no tracking pixel, and no telemetry built into this extension.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not share your data with data brokers or advertisers.
- We do not read your direct messages.
- We do not post on your behalf. Every draft is inserted into the reply box for you to review, edit, and send yourself.
- We do not run a background process that scrapes your feed. The extension only activates when you click into a reply box and press the button.
Your choices
You can clear your stored API key and voice sample at any time from the extension's Settings page. Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data associated with it. If you have subscribed through ExtensionPay, you can manage or cancel your subscription from the extension, which opens ExtensionPay's own subscription-management page.
